Just unveiled: my new and improved, redesigned website! It was time to practice what I preach – the importance of an up-to-date website that reinforces the brand, speaks to the clientele, highlights my experience, expertise and services, and provides content that search engines find irresistible.
Almost five years ago, I put together my previous website using the WordPress platform. I had some help with the initial set-up but for the most part, the content creation, learning how to upload and optimize copy, visuals and video and re-purposing that content via blog posts, emails and an ebook, provided a valuable learning process for me. Because I focus on content marketing as an important component of my client’s overall marketing strategies, I needed to understand the WordPress mechanics – what was possible. To be able to talk the talk, I needed to walk it, too.
But, as WordPress has made big advancements in those five years, I felt my site needed to make some progress as well. I have an advantage in that I create the content but I give huge kudos to the designer I worked with, George Renfro. His understanding of how websites should work, his incomparable design aesthetic and often brutal honesty about what should be included (or not) resulted in a website redesign that I feel stands apart…and really works for me.
I’m very happy with the outcome…and would appreciate any feedback (boy, I sure hope there aren’t any typos).
